Precision Textiles launches new direct mail campaign

TOTOWA, N.J. — In its newest marketing campaign, Precision Textiles — supplier of coated fabrics, nonwovens and laminations for the bedding, automotive and healthcare industries — is taking a more traditional route with a classic direct-mail program.

Promoting its recently launched IQFit Natural line, the mailer includes a product brochure, a swatch card with product samples and a mini foam bun with an IQFit Natural FR sock applied, as well as information about the danger of using fiberglass in FT socks.

The campaign is designed to help Precision Textile’s partners make better-informed FR barrier sourcing decisions in an industry that is first and foremost driven by the touch and feel of the materials used.

Elf on the … delivery truck?

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — Taking another step toward making spirits bright this holiday season, Top 100 retailer Raymour & Flanigan has launched free Elf Delivery for three days in December.

Adding a little extra cheer to its current white-glove service, some delivery people will be dressed in full elf regalia to bring products to customers and a smile to their faces. Elf Delivery will be available in New York City, Islip, Westchester County, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse and Rochester, N.Y.; Philadelphia; and Stratford, Conn.

To get Elf Delivery between Dec. 15-17, customers fill out an online form, complete with order number. Raymour & Flanigan’s elves will deliver on a first-come first-serve basis, as the elf teams are available for a limited time.

My friend Ron Passaglia, the long-time president of Restonic, is wrapping up his distinguished bedding career this month. And that triggers memories of my travels over the years with that good, kind man, described by one of his colleagues as “a marketing maven who knows a thing or two about sales.” Yes, he does.

Restonic was ahead of the times in moving to a virtual headquarters model back in 2009, with its headquarters being wherever Passaglia’s BlackBerry (and then his iPhone) happened to be at the moment. And many times that was on the road, where I joined Passaglia several times over the years. He worked hard to build the Restonic brand, and he won widespread respect for his diligent work.

Houzz Pro pairs up with Benjamin Moore to bring new color options to online tools

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Online home design platform Houzz Inc. has teamed up with paint brand Benjamin Moore to bring its color portfolio to new visualization tools within Houzz Pro, an all-in-one business management and marketing solution for residential construction and design professionals.

As part of this engagement, Benjamin Moore will provide paint colors for the Houzz Pro 3D Floor Planner and Mood Board tools. With the new partnership, Houzz Pro users will be able to choose from thousands of colors to customize 3D model walls and to place paint swatches on a mood board. Once a 3D floor plan or mood board is approved, the pro can easily click on the paint swatch to order the exact paint color from Benjamin Moore’s website.
